Eat Cookies to Get a Better SAT Score
Eating cookies can help your child get a better SAT or ACT score. Stop laughing! I'm totally serious! Careful research in my own home suggests that 100% of students will laugh when assigned sweet confections for schoolwork. (Complaining may resume after laughter has ended, however, so your mileage may vary.) Hear me out - here's how to raise test scores by baking!
1. Give a sample SAT test at home.
- Give the test in the kitchen, timed.
- I find that the SAT test pairs well with chocolate chip cookies.
- While the child takes the test, you bake cookies.
- Once the test is finished, reward them with cookies and an afternoon free from school.
- The student will associate the test with pleasure and sweetness, not pain.
2. Give a sample ACT test at home.
- Give the test in the kitchen, timed.
- I find that the ACT test pairs well with brownies and chocolate cake.
- While the child takes the test, you bake the brownies or cake.
- Once the test is finished, give the child the freshly baked treats, and allow the rest of the day off school work.
- The student will associate the test with sweetness, not pain.
3. Compare the SAT results to the ACT results.
- Once both tests have been done, compare scores with the chart provided, to see which test gives you the best percentile to begin with.

4. Study for the test that is best for your child.
- Studying for only the test that gives your child the best percentile ranking is the simplest, easiest way to get a better SAT or ACT score!
