Many college admission professionals check the social media accounts for their applicants. It's important to talk to your children about making smart choices on what they post on social media. Have them use the "Rule of Mom" with social media accounts. If mom would be upset or embarrassed by the post, don't share it. Your student does want to be genuine online, though, because colleges are looking for genuine people with genuine activities that are shared on social media.
