A Common Sense, Easy to Understand Approach to Homeschooling

A Common Sense, Easy to Understand Approach

A Common Sense, Easy to Understand Approach to Homeschooling

Recently, I had the pleasure of holding a webinar with Hal and Melanie Young of Raising Real Men! They are parents of six real boys and two real girls and have been homeschooling for two decades. They said some sweet things about me - check it out!

Hal Young spoke about the significance of homeschool independence and flexibility. “This is one of those important things because as homeschoolers, we love our independence, we love the flexibility. But when we get to the end of the day, you’ve got to communicate what your young scholar has accomplished. And you’ve got to communicate it in a way the college admissions personnel, the future employers can understand.”

Melanie Young added, “Trying to find out all that information was really hard and there’s a lot of different information. It was hard for me to figure out what was reliable. And Lee, I looked through all of your stuff and when we talked, I liked the way you handled things. You handled things the way Hal and I do. And it’s a common sense, easy to understand approach that’s doable for regular families.”

Save Yourself a World of Time - Don't Reinvent the Wheel!

After our online conversation, Hal and Melanie Young of Raising Real Men were kind enough to share a review Total Transcript Solution. After two decades of homeschooling, they had a LOT of thoughts about homeschool transcripts! Here is some of what they had to say:

Hal Young said, “I don’t see the virtue in reinventing something when there’s a resource that’s got it collected, that’s got it organized in a way that you can jump right in and not waste a lot of time learning how to do it, but actually getting it done and focusing on the discipleship and the opportunities or those last critical years with your child at home.”

Melanie Young thought it would be easier to use the Total Transcript Solution, too. She wrote, “I tried everything else, too. I tried the software and it was so restrictive and it wouldn’t let me change those descriptions to fit my school. It wouldn’t let me change how I handled things or wanted to do some classes that were more than one credit, less than one...it’s really awkward. I looked through the Total Transcript Solution. I read the book and I just thought, if I had only had this 9 years ago when we high schooled our oldest, it would’ve saved me a world of time. You don’t have to do all the work I did. You can go out there and let Lee hold your hand through it. And for me, Lee, it was fantastic. I also really like the templates because I really struggled ridiculously long over figuring out how to make everything fit and how to make it look professional. And I was tickled when I saw the templates because you can just plug your information in and skip all that stuff about making it look right because it already looks right."

Hal and Melanie LOVED the Total Transcript Solution! "I’ll tell you, I’m really impressed with it, Lee. It looks like a great value to me and I recommend it!”
