High School History Requirements and Solutions

Perhaps you missed a day or two of high school history - I know I did - but your teenager needs important instruction in history, economics, and government so they can vote responsibly and pay taxes. Perhaps more importantly, they need to remember lessons from history so our society is not destined to repeat it.

If you have been with me all week, you have already learned how to teach history with confidence, and how to raise global-minded citizens from a Christian perspective. In this final class, I want to take a step back.... In my class I'll explain what is actually required to cover in high school. You'll learn how to be college-ready with your social studies choices. This class is for everyone, Christian or not, because all homeschoolers need to cover high school history, so our society is not doomed to repeat the errors of the past. This is important stuff, not to be missed in high school!

High School History Requirements and Solutions

by Lee Binz, The HomeScholar

What is the difference between history and social sciences? In this workshop, I'm going to help you understand how to teach high school history, no matter how much you know (or don't know) about the subject. It's your job to figure out what your state law requires and what colleges want. Then you somehow need to find a way to make sure it happens. Let's talk about why this is an important cornerstone of homeschooling. I'll explain the core requirements. We'll go over curriculum options, including how to incorporate delight directed learning. We'll talk about how to document your student’s knowledge with tests. I'll show you how to describe your successes with carefully crafted class titles, and course descriptions. Please join me, and let me explain it easily for you.
