This is the time of year when parents may consider homeschooling for the first time.  It can be a scary thought!

This first step is to locate your state homeschool law.  Search for the name of your state and the words "homeschool organization" to locate a group that can help you. You can also search for your state here: http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/default.asp.  Contact your state homeschool organization, and make sure you follow the state law for homeschoolers, which is often different than the law for public school students.
